The Carol Milgard Breast Center is a regional center for screening, diagnostic mammograms and breast imaging procedures.
For your convenience, Franciscan Health System, MultiCare Health System and TRA Medical Imaging also offer screening services in Gig Harbor and Lakewood. If follow-up care is needed, you will be referred to the Carol Milgard Breast Center. Breast imaging services will no longer be offered at Allenmore Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center, St. Clare Medical Center or TRA on Cedar in Tacoma.
The Carol Milgard Breast Center is named after Tacoma philanthropist and 30-year breast cancer survivor Carol Milgard and is designed to honor her spirit. The long-time Tacoma resident was described as a “ray of sunshine who offered enthusiasm and hope to everyone she met.” Thanks to significant support from the Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation the Center brings together the three largest providers of breast imaging services in Pierce County — Franciscan Health Care System, MultiCare Health System and TRA Medical Imaging — to create a new concept in health care.
